Central Asia
Go Ye Fellowship has workers in various countries of Central Asia. For security reasons we do not name them, their fields, or their ministries. We consider Central Asian countries as those with names ending in "stan," e.g., Turkmenistan or Tajikistan. Some were part of what was the Soviet Union; some were not.
The people of this region are primarily Muslim, although other faiths, including Christianity, are present. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Islam has been strengthening its hold on the "stans" that were part of the Soviet Union, but Christianity has been growing as well.
While evangelism is still needed in large portions of the region, there is an even greater need to disciple new believers, train national leaders, and help them develop the necessary ministry tools. Traditional Christians who have a fortress mentality focused on their own survival need encouragement to reach out to win their neighbors to Christ.
Like many other regions of the world, Central Asia is an ideal place for a tentmaker ministry. www.globalopps.org
We at Go Ye Fellowship are excited about what God is doing in Central Asia. Our experienced missionaries often share with us the need for more workers. We have a burden for this part of the world. Some within our mission leadership have had experience in Central Asia and are well versed on the region.
If you feel called to minister within Central Asia or to Muslims, perhaps Go Ye Fellowship is the mission for you. If you feel God calling you to give to ministry to Muslims, Go Ye can connect you with a missionary needing support or a project that needs funding.
Pray for the lost of Central Asia and for workers and finance to reach this needy region.
